Chameleon

Cheers:

eXile alert! In honor of our new "Gay Alternative" self-outing, we're rousing everyone to make that trip to Chameleon. You won't regret it! Finally, a gay club has arrived to replace Chance, which got tiring after a while. Beer garden said to be kicking but. Mixed crowd includes hardcore gay and mega-babes. Darkened labyrinths to allow for anonymous, hidden trysts, a sex shop, and in-yo-face snaking. Features restaurant, bar area, and a large dancefloor.

Jeers:

eXile alert: gay sources say this place is no longer gay, but rather flathead central. So far, may not be mixed enough for the progressive straights; gets packed solid with a line by 1am.

Chance

Cheers:

Some think it's the best club in Moscow, but we don't. Handsome mixed crowd who comes to dance and enjoy. Gay soft porn, striptease, and mermaid act.

Jeers:

It's been over-discovered - including by OMON troops, who occasionally pop in to bash your head, take you into jail, and plant drugs on you. Very little hetero-macking.

Free before 23.00, 50.000 rubles after (men)/ 100.000 rubles (women)

Studio

Cheers:

eXile alert! Recent 1-year-anniversary party was packed to the gills, and boy was it a blast (though we don't remember it). Folks, forget Chance and Chameleon - this is THE mixed club of 2000. Packed with model babes accompanying their gay model friends, they come here to escape the likes of you. Apparently rudely refused to allow Afisha's publisher and editor inside, which made those wannabe dorkadents all huffy Ôn stuffy. Waytago, Studio! Don't let that stop you though. Come to the club, forget about the male hunks because they're after a different sort of tail, and put on the full Vijay court press. Way better than Galereya and Circus if you ask us. Don't forget to try their amazing 4-course business lunch for 195 rubles! Somewhere between Gay Yuppie San Francisco and Gay Galereya-dorkadence. Enormous amounts of shiny chrome metal adorn the bar/stage downstairs; live male striptease in which your waiter will participate, however awkwardly; these guys show their johnsons, so be prepared; upstairs disco is quality minimalism. Has a mixed gay/straight crowd with about 30% women.

Jeers:

Drink prices just went through the roof, but it seems to have worked attracting super-cool types. Proudly announces strict face control; so much chrome you might get a tan; annoying fat TV emcee was so tres 80s. Come on, fellas!
