The first eXile review of the Duck, in February 1997, penned, as you might have guessed, by an American woman, one Cherie D.

Already in early '97, tbe Duck shocked Moscow's normally upscale bar scene by offering "Countdown" rewards to those who began drinking heavily at 8 pm Mondays.

When Ladies Night was first announced in our Dec. 30, 1997 issue, we knew it would hit big.

Throughout 1998 the Duck's Ladies Nights were a guaranteed ride into the shocking, manic, wonderfully debauched world of Moscow's famed nightlife.

Probably the very last bar-dak update on the Duck before the shit started to hit the fan. Wednesday night all-the-Penza-beer-you-can-drink specials packed 'em and got 'em loose.

By January, you couldn't ignore it any longer. A series of high profile, vicious cop raids had made the Duck a dangerous place to go. It was clear that this vital pillar of Moscow's Decadence was coming down for good.

Letters to the editor basically come in three types: the eXile sucks, the eXile rules, and Thank You Hungry Duck. This is the last such letter from two issues ago.
