Update: Yasha Levine was released from prison on bail, and is heading back to his apartment. The experience was worse than he’d expected, but he’ll explain more on that as soon as he’s back and able to focus. Looks like we’ll need to hit readers up for some bail money, but the good news is that he was able to negotiate the bail price down, sort of poverty-discount.

UPDATE: Hi everyone, my name is Chuck Ross, and I’m a man. Yes, a real man. You know, as in “The Men’s Movement” not-at-all-closet-case manly homophobe man. That kind of man. You’re like, “Oo, I’m an emasculated man oo I’m against oligarchy and wealth inequality, oo” as if concentrations of wealth ever harmed anyone or played any significant role in anything in history!
See, I live in the 1990s and I know that there’s nothing in the world that is worse than being “lame.” So when you get arrested as a journalist–as I have many times been arrested (in my head) by feminazis and the thought police (who pursue me in my head) because i’m so damn contrarian and “not politically correct” that they just can’t handle my not-lame ways–anyway, when you get arrested as a journalist, the thing that I look for is whether or not it’s lame. Yeah, I’m that kinda edgy guy. And when you get waterboarded or skullfucked (notice how I said “Skullfucked” because I’m so damn edgy), then you can talk to me, because that means you’re not lame anymore.
God I admire my no-bullshit ballsy courage! I betcha none-a you can handle this comment!

I’ve always believed that the reason our gargantuan prison system was allowed to degenerate to the extent that it has is to stifle political dissent. Henry David Thoreau might think differently about going to a prison where forced sodomy is an accepted tool of social control.
Seriously, you find out that you are getting the role of an extra in one of the Saw movies, and the concept of writing intellectual tracts from your prison cell becomes a lot less appealing.

fine you got me. i’ll admit it, i’m a useless bootlicker who gets paid $35,000 plus shitty benefits (no medical) to troll the eXiled pretending that it ain’t really that cool that levine got arrested covering a protest, especially given few journalists have the balls to get arrested right here in America. lara logan got raped. the least yasha could do was leave some blood on the pavement. I was talking to a comrade tonight who had a $5000 bail from the OLA raid. She was saying the bail bonds places were trying to tack on an additional $700 to the $500 ten percent for total of $1200. Also the pigs kept them on the bus for 7 hours, drove them to the San Fernando valley, waited 3 hours, drove them back to LA, stopping at Star Bucks for 45 minutes on the way. People had to piss and shit on the floor of the bus. So fucked up.

Apparently #4 doesn’t know how prison works. Sodomy happens in the prisons, yes. Yasha didn’t go to prison, he went to jail. You don’t go to prison in America until after you’ve been tried and convicted. Considering Yasha posted his bail instantly (and it seems to have been less money than I spend on a weekend of booze and blow), statements about fear of sodomy are obvious and facile bullshit.
