This is frightening. Posting a “story” like this is almost enough to de-legitimize your whole site. Are most of your stories as poorly researched as this one?

That picture is old, I saw the uncensored one many years before the shoe throwing event and I cannot find any sources that claim what you are saying. If I recall that man was a terrorist who ripped open his shirt revealing what appeared to be a bomb and started shouting the usual suicide bomber’s phrase, “Allāhu Akbar” so a Marine shot him in the head for threatening innocent people’s lives. 1 shot one kill. If anyone raised a shoe toss 1000 bullets it must have been those noob army guys who freak out at everything.

Throwing a shoe at a U.S. vehicle in Iraq is a guaranteed way to die. I believe Iraqis do occasionally lob old Russian anti-tank grenades (RKG-3s?), and they do in fact kill U.S. personnel. They’re awkward stick grenades too … that you would probably throw like you would throw a shoe.

I dunno … if you’re going to get blown away like that, I think you might as well throw an actual grenade.

That stiff also has magazine pouches on. If that’s really a photo of the dead guy from this story, it’s hardly surprising that someone would think he was a rebel throwing a grenade.

Mind you, even if he _really had_ been throwing a grenade, it still wouldn’t be okay for the Stormtroopers to shoot him. If you don’t want stuff thrown at you, refrain from conquering other people’s contries.
