Give out of work Citizens of the U.S. jobs rounding up illegals for deportation. A simple $500 per head bounty would be a real boost to the economy where we need it, at the citizen level.

Why is everyone reffering to immigrants as if they are such horrible people. I myself was born in this counrty, and am the first to do so. With the millions of people living in poverty, it is with great honor to give them a better chance for a better life. Immigrants are doing the jobs us “Americans” do not even want too.

Porkers: Your great aunt lived 750 miles from the city in question. The desert is not one big uniform nothing, and it is entirely possible for one city in it to be a hellhole while others manage to be pretty cool.

I spent the better part of 20 years in the high desert. I can assure you, Adelanto is a cesspool of despair. The entire Victor Valley is awful, but Adelanto has always had the reputation of being Victorville’s bastard half-brother.

I have this mental image of them shipping a couple thousand illegal immigrants up to actually build the prison, and when it’s finally finished, locking them all inside.

oh,please!! will you QUIT with the “a festering, half-abandoned foreclosure dunghole jutting out into the desert wasteland next door to Victorville” already?

I had an great aunt who lived in Sante Fe, loved to visit her, she had lived a good part of her life as an ex-pat in Europe (including Paris & French Riviera, but settled down in art-friendly Sante Fe for her final years. She told me how she loved the explosion of wildflowers following any seasonal rain, but afterwards, found it psychologically soothing for the return of “hot and dry” desert. (which, btw, allowed adobe walls built of nothing but mud to last for 300 years.) I now sorta agree – if Levine loves lush greenery so much, why don’t he move to the Congo?
