www.gainesville.com -- University of Florida students have said they will protest today over the shooting of doctoral student Kofi Adu-Brempong by university police, demanding that criminal charges against him be dropped.Adu-Brempong was shot March 2 in his campus apartment by a university police officer. Police reported that he swung at another officer with a metal rod - which family and friends have alleged was a cane he uses because of a childhood case of polio - and charged him with aggravated assault on an officer and resisting an officer with violence. "Kofi was shot with an assault rife in the face ... Even people who side with the cops on everything are questioning that," he said.
