Actually, Turkey has displayed a very mature approach as a regional power-broker, including diplomatic ties with Israel as a counterpoint to the more extreme Muslim countries..
Turkey also agreed to allow USA access for troop withdrawl from Iraq, provided it knew the destination of these troops..
Seems to be well-balanced diplomacy despite how it impacts its chances for EU membership or a pro-Western agenda..
