Bush, spent Wednesday afternoon shedding light on a litany of controversial Bush administration moves during a political fundraiser in Victorville. Speaking to some 275 guests at a fundraiser for 1st District Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt at the Hilton Garden Inn, Rove said he had vigorously tried to convince Bush not to choose Dick Cheney as his running mate because he thought it’d be a political nightmare. Rove also blasted leading Democrats and journalists for what he called hypocritical coverage of the Iraqi war, and he shared memorable White House moments — from the steel coldness aboard Air Force One on Sept. 11, 2001, to his hiding the BMW of a fellow White House staffer as a prank.
