funny how the Advertisement occupies more room than the story.

I know I’ll probably unleash a shitstorm from European do-gooders with this comment, but I’m fully with the Israelis on the aid-boat episode.

Any sovereign state has the right to protect its borders. And when there’s a ship with 600 people on board approaching your shore, unauthorized, aiming to violate your blockade…

Btw, these 600 people — what were they all going to Gaza for? Why would you need that many to accompany humanitarian aid?
The Israelis claim that some of those 600 were jihadi volunteers, and the footage of bearded Arabs virulently battering an IDF soldier with an iron baton doesn’t really challenge that assumption.
I suspect the “aid team” actually consisted of a dozen European idealists and 550+ Islamists. The poor European treehuggers didn’t even realize they were being played blindly and used as a front.

Last but not least, the ship had been warned not to cross into Israeli waters. But they still went in headlong — obviously those people WANTED to get intercepted and brutalized, to score a PR victory, which they did.

Just ask yourself, what would the U.S. Coast Guard do in a similar situation? Or rather, what should it have done?

No one has the right to attack vessels in international waters, A-Hole. Imagine instead if it had been the Iranians who stopped vessels in international water and killed some of their occupants. You neocon apologists would probably shoot your wad all over yourselves.

    That a freep c/p?

A-Lex : I know I’ll probably unleash a shitstorm from European do-gooders with this comment, but I’m fully with the Israelis on the aid-boat episode

I doubt it mate, you’re not really worth the effort.

    1. The seafront of Gaza doesn’t exactly constitute Israels border.

    2. There wasn’t one ship with 600 people on it, there were six ships with approximately 680 people on it.

    3. The people on those ships don’t agree with Israel’s treatment of the people of Gaza? What a surprise.

    4. If you continue to post stuff like this, I’ll have to come over and punch you in the face. Since you have been warned, I assume that in case you continue you want to get brutalized.

    5. Oh yes – with two current major quagmires on foreign soil, a catastrophic war on drugs and a hypocritical immigration policy, we should just ask ourselves “What would the U.S. do?”

Just ask yourself, what would the U.S. Coast Guard do in a similar situation? Or rather, what should it have done?

@a-lex: So merely by emplacing a murderous SIEGE around Gaza, the jewish war state ELIMINATES Gaza’s rights to territorial waters? How convenient!
I’d like to recommend the War Nerd’s edition(s) on SIEGE WARFARE –
The War Nerd is in my “top 10 most important books thus far this (21st) century” because it explains that SLO-BURN GENOCIDE is THE NORM in human affairs, and all that hokum about “Civilization” and “Moral Values” is pure camoflage to COVER UP the STILL, on-going relentless Slo-Burn genocide. For example, did you know that before the SCOTS-IRISH allied with their (“fellow white skinned”) Anglo-American partners in slave-owning society in the Confederate South, that those SAME Scots(-“Irish”) had been ETHNICALLY CLEANSED by the English from merry old Scotland? “Go to our ULSTER PLANTATION and WIPE OUT the IRISH CATHOLICS for us… or we’ll WIPE YOU & your families OUT right here, right now?”
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plantation_of_Ulster
(War Nerd is big on the Merry Old British, with their stiff upper lip and sense of propriety, being every bit as GENOCIDAL as the other thugs and conquerors of world history, and the ultimate example of that was the GREAT IRISH FAMINE, 1845-1852 (in fact, one of MANY Irish famines under brutal English occupation!), whose proximate cause was NOT the potato blight, but the fact that the Irish had been DRIVEN OFF the GRAIN FIELDS and estates that had fed & nourished them for centuries!)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Famine_(Ireland)#Laws_that_restricted_the_rights_of_the_Irish (WarNerd’s comments on psychological warfare, which is to say APPLIED TERRORISM; and on the horrors of being a subjugated & occupied people (Kurds I & II) are easily the best around, anywhere, for the simple reason that it is so impolite to acknowledge that WE ARE ALL Genghis Kahn, Tamerlane, Caeser, or Attilla at heart – hell, the “great prophets” of the Bible loved nothing better than the old Genghis routine, “SLAUGHTER ALL the men, and take (and rape) the virgin daughters as sex slaves.”
But as applies to THIS story, War Nerd’s “SIEGE WARFARE makes NAZIS OF US ALL” explains, that by the time you have survived on EITHER side of a months long siege, you want NOTHING MORE than for EVERYONE on the other side – whether beseiging army or beseiged defenders – to DIE THE SLOWEST, MOST GRISLY, MOST HORRIBLE DEATH possible.

Yep, when it comes to the SIEGE WARFARE that israel is imposing on Gaza, DEHUMANIZING the enemy, so you can justify KILLING THEM to the last man, woman, and child, is now STANDARD ISSUE for the jewish army & society emplacing that siege – Gaza is now the Warsaw Ghetto, Rotterdam, Guernica, and Stalingrad rolled into one.

    @ Tam
Oops — it looks like your fellow do-gooders are proving you wrong, pal.

    @ Marquelot
    1) The vessels were clearly going to Gaza, even after being warned — what practical difference does it make if they were intercepted a mile earlier or later? They wouldn’t have turned anyway.

    2) If the U.S. Coast Guard torpedoed a boatfull of Russians heading for U.S. coast, I bet you wouldn’t lose a minute of your sleep over it.

    @ porkers-at-the-trough
    1) Hamas people in Gaza fire missiles at Jewish neighbourhoods indiscriminately, placing their launching pads in schoolyards or crowded neighbourhoods, so that the Israeli retaliatory strike would kill as many Arab kids as possible, for the sake of the holy rage.
Need you do any more to dehumanize them?

    2) Please don’t write comments when on meth, your writing is difficult to read.

    @ Peter
Boy, you are the star today. Really entertaining.
    1) The bulk of the people on those ships come from Turkey, of all places — a country that stomps on its Kurdish minority no less brutally than Israel does on the Palestinians. And if a peacenik boat went to Turkey this way… well, you wouldn’t wanna be on that boat.

    2) You’re gonna come and punch me?
Ahahahaha, with what, you cocksucking keypad ninja? You think playing arcade carate games makes you fit for an actual fistfight? You’d have to do a bit more than press buttons on a joystick to punch me, you know.

The very fact that you’re not even wondering WHERE you’d have to go to get me proves that your threat is nothing but macho posturing. I bet you’re the type that likes to pose in front of a mirror wearing a Rambo bandana,
    with his (pathetic) torso naked.

This is why I MOST DEFINITELY WILL continue posting anything I want here, resting assured that your righteous indignation will never boil outside your parents’ basement.

    @ peaceniks in general:
If only you guys had half of your braincells still intact, you’d’ve remembered that the entire Palestine was dancing in the streets celebrating 9/11. Your case is best described by this recent comment by an Israeli on an Israeli blog:

“…who are so driven by anti-Semitism and blind Jew-hatred that they prefer to support misogynistic, homophobic, child-slaughtering, murderous barbarians, who, should they ever (God Forbid) prevail against Israel or the West would eliminate these Guardian-reading idiots faster than you could say “help Gaza”.

I couldn’t put it any better.

Look A-Lick, my point was that if I were to beat you up and get away with it, that there would be people like you who would say that it was your fault.

And you probably live on a different continent altogether. But if you ever happen to come by good ol’ Vienna (Austria), I’m sure I can fix up a match.

Your point about the Kurds is a good one. If the opportunity arises, I’ll mention it to some Turks at the next rally to see how they react.

After reading diatribes like that from your Blogger, I’ve got the notion that the zionists would have already built extermination camps if they were free to do so. So I will end by citing another stalwart zionist, named Martin van Creveld: “We possess several hundred atomic warheads and rockets and can launch them at targets in all directions, perhaps even at Rome. Most European capitals are targets for our air force…. We have the capability to take the world down with us. And I can assure you that that will happen before Israel goes under.”

  • 10. A-Lex  |  June 2nd, 2010 at 10:57 pm

    @ jajagenau
Tja, Peter, multiple names — what, have you got personality swings, mein armer Knabe?

I actually live in a country whose nationals by far do not enjoy a warm welcome in Austria these days: I’m from Russia. And if I came to your house in the middle of the night despite multiple warnings to keep away, you would be fully entitled not only to punch, but to fucking club me to the pulp, and neither the police nor your neighbours would condemn you — especially me being a Russian in Austria.

Come on, tell me I’m lying and you’re not prejudiced against us, my bleeding-heart HR paladine.

And as for the quote you’re citing, if you confuse the writings of a crazy old man with state policies and take them seriousely any day — than boy, what horrible personal world you must be living in…

There are so many rabied old men preaching harm and destruction all over the world — you quote Rush Limbaugh, or better yet, Jorg Haider. Luckily, those people don’t run the show in democratic countries — and Israel is one.
But if you look at the people you’re in frenzy over, you’ll see that they overwhelmingly support the type of leaders that will stop at nothing to destroy the Jews just because they are Jews. They don’t even hide — it’s there in their speeches, but the ones they pronounce at international conferences where they come to squeeze a sob out of you.

And mind you, you Europeans are no less hated in those parts — it’s just that so far you are a giving hand.

So Americans might have a little understanding?!
Were the activists were like the civil rights demonstrators who sat down at segregated lunch counters throughout the South and refused to leave until they were served. Their goal was not really to get breakfast. It was to end segregation.

That fact is so obvious that it is hard to believe that the “pro-Israel” lobby is using it as an indictment.

Of course the goal of the flotilla was to break the blockade.
Of course Martin Luther King provoked the civil authorities of the South to break segregation.
Of course the Solidarity movement used workers’ rights as a pretext to break Soviet-imposed Communism.

The bottom line is that the men and women of the flotilla had every right to attempt to destroy an illegal blockade that Israel had no legal standing to impose and which was designed to inflict collective punishment on the people of Gaza…
But then we know what America did to those seeking basic civil rights then too, don’t we. When did they spot lynching Blacks? When they stopped beating their wives?!

Someone asked what we thought the Coast Guard would do if we had a situation like the aid boats coming here to the U.S. Well, IF there were also a population of people being deliberately starved here, and those boats were bringing in food.

OK, I’ll bite. We already faced a situation like this in the United States. Or more properly, in the Confederate States of America, during the Civil War. Slavery is wrong, but last I checked, people have the right to define their own national/state existence, and that’s what the CSA did. And they were fighting a bit too well during the war for the amount of technology and troops they had–remember, the South was still largely agrarian at that time while the North was transitioning to an industrial state. So, to speed things up a bit, the United States blockaded the CSA by sea and cut the rail lines by land.

The result was widespread starvation. (That coupled with the pellagra epidemic of the late 1800s/early 1900s goes much farther than marriage between close family members to explaining the greater incidence of mental deficiencies and violent behavior among Southerners from the early 1900s onward.) I’m sure the U.S. presented it as necessary to starve out the Conferate troops but let’s face it, the troops had to get food somewhere and if they couldn’t import it they’d take it from the civilians. And did.

There were blockade runners in those days. And let me tell you, the Confederates viewed them as heroes. As any of you would, if an occupier government moved into your area and told you that you couldn’t eat anymore because it wasn’t politically expedient for them.

Gaza hasn’t even been keeping slaves (at least, not any more than any other area of the world does today). It was simply doing what any of you would do if an occupier government moved into your area, assuming you actually have a backbone and a working trigger finger. Since when is it wrong to fight back against an occupier? So what if they’re not using a military? Exactly how in the world could they possibly amass an army and train it without Israel wiping them out? Terrorism is their only option. If you’ve got any better ideas I’m sure they’d love to hear them. Even a “we will no longer send money or arms to Israel” would be viewed as long overdue.

But no, that’s apparently too much to ask. Instead far too many of us are wringing our hands about the poor oppressed helpless little Zionist government over there. What the hell is wrong with America, anyway? We’ve been siding with bullies since at least 1980–on personal, national, and international levels. What do we think we’re going to get out of this? It’s sure not going to be world peace. And definitely not anything resembling justice.
