The biggest story of the past year—the takeover of America by the billionaire Koch brothers—was first reported by eXiled Online editors Mark Ames and Yasha Levine over two years ago, in a controversial article for Playboy. Dylan Ratigan sets the record straight once and for all on MSNBC”s “The Dylan Ratigan Show.” He asks Ames and Levine what the corruption of the journalism world, along with the political and economic world, means for America.
Watch it and weep:

Greetings, I am a writer from the Daily Show who deliberately reads obscure but excellent news sites so people won’t know where we get some of our sketches from! It is only a matter of time before we steal this article and start targeting the Kochs. Haha. Just wanted to thank you guys in advance! If you write a really nice book on the Kochs and send Jon Stewart a Christmas ham…. or a Channukah coupon for Chinese food, maybe we’ll finally give you credit as long as you kiss butt in any interviews on our show.
Then again, it’s possible that the Kochs are so powerful they’ve buddied up to someone at the top of our corporate food chain and that’s why TDS had been too cowardly to take the Kochs on! If that’s the case, ignore the potential above scenario!
Take care!

From the first time I picked up a copy of the Exiled in Moscow in March 2000, I’ve been waiting for Ames & Co. to make it big. I knew his perspective was some fucking raw truth. Taking over Ratigan officially counts as a noteworthy accomplishment, congrats, you cum-slinging nastayashi muzhiks.

(A) tears? Got none left, man.
(B) M and Y a “hit”? Hey, no way, no day. These guys are too smart, too hip. The vast mass of brain crippled sad sacks of the world just cannot dig it. Not enough neurons in they heads. We the few, man, The few, the proud, the smart. Face it. We’re like Cromagnons in a Neanderthal neighborhood. They’ll maybe catch up.. in like a million years or so. But um don’t hold your breath.

I wish you were using the word “broke” differently. As in “To cause to separate into pieces suddenly or violently; smash”. Instead of “to make known; as in news”.

Mark and Yasha: I am a citizen-television-expert with an opinion, and as soon as I crawl out of my mother’s basement, I’ll let you know what’s on my mind.

I’ve just received word that someone from the top of Viacom is buddy-buddy with the Kochs. 🙁
Well, it was a fine story but so much for stealing it! We’ll probably wait a year or so until everyone’s talking about the Kochs and then we’ll feel compelled to lightly criticize them for appearance’s sake!
Also you guys, don’t you know it’s an honor to have content stolen by us? Mocking us shies us away from using all your stuff! Next time don’t humiliate us by mocking us- suck up to us and come on our show! It’s a win-win for both parties!

I’m waiting for the 100th monkey to discover you guys, and you reach the tipping point, or go viral, but ’till then all I can say is – come the revolution…

Mark and Yasha – you’ve both gotten a lot better in front of the camera. I’m glad to see you articulating more substantial arguments on-the-spot in the last few videos.
Keep it up!

Hey the Koch brothers are beneficial to the US , the Planet in fact the entire Universe . And just think , they’re buying your legislation from our lawmakers with bribes . And they know there are the ignorant of the land , the lackeys who will continue to lick the boot that is kicking them in the arse .

Every good guy needs a bad guy to establish and maintain power. Where would Batman be without the Joker?
Where would Ames and Levine be without teh evul Kock korporashun? They’d be living in comfortable retirement in Swedish-style socialism.

I am a Koch zombies
you two are special, but I’m just a sad commenter
Good to see I didn’t get airtime, but you at least are on a major network that I pretend I don’t watch while I leave comments on your site. Hold on, my mom’s yelling at me…

Wow, no one mentioned George Mason University, which along with the Cato Institute are the action arms of the Koch Brother’s and their tax-free philanthropy. It’s a tax free way for them to reeducate a whole new generation of like minded activists, who are ready, willing and able to dismantle our current marketplace protections. They promote expedience to justify antisocial marketplace behaviors. They think there’s an add value to making profits at the cost of your own neighbors. Yikes. Mason alumni are unwilling to discuss a manufacturing economy. They are not trained to value another person’s labor. They are asset hounds. These folks are trained to seek out vulnerable assets of other people, so they can leverage these assets, until they can exploit these over-leveraged assets with government backed bailouts or loopholes in local laws.

I know who the Koch Bros. are.
Who the hell are Mark Ames and the other guy?
