You owe it to yourself to read it.

“Weirder still is the fact that Beck has successfully grown a mass following while stumbling through a remedial self-education in U.S. democracy, which reflects the carnival mirrors inside his mind as much as it does the reality he struggles, in futility and desperation, to comprehend.”

The whole thing’s that good and you’ll end up knowing more than you want (but all that you should) know about Beck.

  • 2. smurf boner  |  June 21st, 2010 at 11:00 pm

zaitchik is fucking great but good lord is that cover awful sorry

  • 3. thomzas  |  June 22nd, 2010 at 1:15 am

Isn’t the cover depicting what Beck is always on about? How he will be taken off the air, gagged to stop him from speaking out?

As being cancelled at Fox would be the biggest boost to his career, I think it’s playing into his hands a bit.

He’ll be waving it around on his show next.

  • 4. TheNorthernSurvivalist  |  June 23rd, 2010 at 4:09 pm

Glen Becktard is a CIA shill.

  • 5. dog iron  |  July 5th, 2010 at 12:40 pm

liberals usually attack the messenger – its just the way they roll – however even a baboon would learn something by watching his show.. never mind…

  • 6. Bob  |  July 12th, 2010 at 1:33 am

Yes, Beck is a clown. But…so is obama…so is Biden…so is Palin…so is the RNC…so is the DNC…so is nearly every state representative…so is nearly every senator…point is…we tend to get joy out of trashing people we despise, while the show goes on, valid points are ignored, and clowns run the show. Example: many points Beck makes on his show are valid, yet he tends to focus on things that push his (LDS?) agenda, or the RNC agenda as a whole. So does nearly every other person on TV. Lets take his valid points, and those on the left, and what picture results? Everyone is a clown, and we will not rid the circus till’ we see this

  • 7. Blenn Geck  |  July 12th, 2010 at 2:04 am

Isn’t it obvious that Glenn Beck, and all the right-wing talking heads are largely after notoriety. It’s much easier to be outrageous on the right; there’s a nihilism to their philosophy, just bottomless hate.

  • 8. Plamen petkov  |  July 12th, 2010 at 3:38 am

hey dog iron as opposite to picking a real book and reading it or taking a course instead of wasting time with a total fakeo such as Beck?

  • 9. Ledbedder  |  July 16th, 2010 at 5:03 pm

I thank GOD every single day for: Beck, Savage, Limbaugh, Levin, Hannity, et.al. You libs just can’t take it because they are almost always correct. It our time now.

  • 10. scott schmitz  |  July 18th, 2010 at 6:47 am

If Glenn Beck is such a clown why the rush to shut him up? I’ve found that those with nothing smart to say should be allowed to talk enough to discredit themselves. If Beck has you this worked up then he must really be on to something, otherwise he wouldn’t bother you. Almost everything he predicted has either come true or is now being predicted by the powers that priviously ridiculed his predictions.

  • 11. Mike Vargas  |  July 21st, 2010 at 2:19 pm

I love Glenn Beck…is he sarcastic, you bet your ASS he is. As far as common sense, none of you progressive fascists have it, therefore you hate…talk about being in denial…

  • 12. son76  |  July 24th, 2010 at 6:40 am

    Yawn.

Another right wing idiot on the air. Gee what a unique idea. Thats certainly never happened before.

  • 13. Reb  |  July 25th, 2010 at 10:21 am

Idiots. They are ALL cut from the same rotten cloth but you people never learn and they know most of you will never catch on and so things continue on as usual. Hello out there.

  • 14. alex  |  August 5th, 2010 at 2:52 pm

I’ve tried to watch Beck’s show more than once and every time I’m repulsed by a
consistent lack of dignity. Thats it in a nutshell isn’t it.

  • 15. Jeff  |  August 26th, 2010 at 12:53 pm

Who the fuck is Glenn Beck?

  • 16. Balls  |  September 4th, 2010 at 4:49 pm

Publishers choose the title and cover art for first time authors.

  • 17. Marquelot  |  September 30th, 2010 at 8:12 pm

Who cares? I can’t believe this many people actually watch teevee. The stupid ones don’t know how to turn that crap off.

  • 18. TheNorthernSurvivalist  |  October 14th, 2010 at 5:25 pm

Glen Beck: Don’t drink aspartame drinks! Diet soda will kill you and make you go blind.

  • 19. herp de derp  |  October 24th, 2010 at 2:58 pm

Are the comments supporting beck trolls or did creatures lacking opposable thumbs finally work out how to use the internet?
Anyway, the problem isn’t beck, it’s the fact that a significant number of americans take the cunt seriously, and if you tell them it’s ridiculous they brand you an elite and go back to sucking off billionaires.

  • 20. Hunter Mars  |  November 1st, 2010 at 9:36 am

    Beck is just a big,retarded baby .
His opinions and positions are worthless .
Another uneducated numb skull pandering to the hopeless hill billies .

  • 21. UKdave  |  November 4th, 2010 at 6:09 pm

Scott Schmitz suggestion that clownish demagogues will eventually destroy themselves is clearly supported by what’s his name,he was an Austrian corporal, who clearly eventually destroyed himself….. and about 70-80m others as well

  • 22. John  |  November 9th, 2010 at 2:16 pm

I understand that you don’t like Glenn beck, but why do you hate him? He is just a guy on TV giving his opinion. If it wasn’t for public broadcasting you would never hear what a progressive or communist had to say because no one wants to hear it. Really, think about it. Why is Rush, Oriely, Beck and the like so rich and popular? Being hateful to people isn’t going to help your cause. Get over yourselves.

  • 23. Capt. Roxie (ret)  |  November 19th, 2010 at 10:16 pm

    hey #11 mike vargas & #22 john–
are you guys paid by the cato institute to troll progressive blogs looking for anyone who dares to criticize the aristocracy and its plutocratic whores like glenn beck?

maybe when rand paul becomes president he can declare martial law and all his tea-bag brown shirt goons like you guys can help blackwater round up us liberals at gun-point, put us on cattle cars and send us to the gas chambers– the final solution.

only a high-school drop-out who never took US & world history would think that a liberal is a fascist.

Do you love laissez-faire free-market capitalism so much? will you do anything to protect it? it was people who think like you that supported hitler and mussolini hoping that America would become fascist too and it was liberals and progressives like me who defended freedom and liberty and the constitution against you ultra-right-wing wall street corporate nazi scum.

this country was founded by overthrowing the aristocracy – time to do it again.

  • 24. AlanABQ  |  November 20th, 2010 at 12:40 am

So much hate from so many simple minds…

Here’s the deal, like it or not:
Freedom of speech exists, no matter how much some hypocritical people claim to be FOR it – but only for some. This means that there are people out there who get to say things that you may or may not agree with.
And the fact is this: Glenn Beck is not the President, Vice-president, Speaker of the House, or any other type of policy-making politician. He’s not a journalist, news anchor or production manager for any of the “Big 3” networks, PBS or CNN. He’s not a rich Hollywood actor or TV exec.
He’s not an editor, journalist, columnist or reporter for the NY Times, the Washington Post, Newsweek, People, Time, or any other mainstream publication…
In other words, he’s a just guy who has a popular show that you have to subscribe to cable to watch. You know, as opposed to having the “unbiased” news on network television rammed down our necks for “free” 24/7. He’s not threatening anyone with legislation that is essentially punishing people for being successful; he’s just calling it as he sees it. To be fair, he’s going to be wrong about some things. He can do that without trying to pass of his product as unbiased news, can’t he?
Since when does free speech get to be suppressed just because it isn’t popular?

  • 25. ianam  |  December 8th, 2010 at 1:00 am

“liberals usually attack the messenger – its just the way they roll”

Right wingers are hypocritical lying scum. Here, you attack the messengers — “liberals”.

“however even a baboon would learn something by watching his show”

They would certainly learn behavior suitable to baboons. OTOH, you could learn something worthwhile by reading this book.

    “never mind…”

Even you know that you have nothing intelligent to say.

  • 26. ianam  |  December 8th, 2010 at 1:27 am

Reading the comments from Beck supporters confirms the Dunning-Kruger effect; these people have no idea how blatantly, transparently dimwitted they are. Even a reasonably literate one like AlanABQ is too dumb to realize that a) he is attacking a strawman; criticizing Beck does not stop him from speaking and b) wielding the giant Fox megaphone is not merely “speech”; Beck isn’t “just a guy”, he’s someone whose particular derangement serves powerful interests and aligns with a potent, virulent ideology. Rather than babbling about the suppression of the speech of someone who has vastly more reach than any of us, he should read the book.

  • 27. Rufus  |  December 17th, 2010 at 1:45 pm

You wouldn’t make a pimple on Becks ass. The truth hurts. Give it time and you will see that he’s right.

  • 28. enemy2k  |  January 7th, 2011 at 11:44 pm

Beck and his followers are a personality cult. It is like a religion in that anything said against Beck is untrue and everything Beck says is like the word of god.

  • 29. subbeast  |  January 26th, 2011 at 4:32 pm

I take great joy in watching his program. It gives a great insight into how INCREDIBLY stupid a large proportion of the American public are. Topping cable tv stats et al… I find it fascinating he gains any traction whatsoever, with anyone, yet he does. Fascinating yet scary.

  • 30. Yam Digger  |  February 14th, 2011 at 8:13 am

Lots of people listen to Glen Beck and take hime very seriously; Lots of people also listened to Adolf Hitler and took him seriously too. Need I say more?

  • 31. cindy  |  February 24th, 2011 at 8:43 am

People who don’t believe in Glen Beck and what he says are blind to the truth. Just like people who don’t know or who refuse to believe Revelations in the Bible. I feel sorry for you people. End times are here, and it isn’t going to happen overnight, but it is happening. Open your eyes and learn the truth and stop burying your heads in the sand before it is to late for you.

  • 32. jericho  |  March 1st, 2011 at 7:24 pm

“I thank GOD every single day for: Beck, Savage, Limbaugh, Levin, Hannity, et.al. You libs just can’t take it because they are almost always correct. It our time now.”

Ledbetter, you are looking up to a bunch of people who have nothing but utter fucking contempt for you and who would gladly sell you out in a heartbeat.

  • 33. jake  |  March 13th, 2011 at 8:13 pm

In an time where no one reads books about people that annoy them, the aim was achieved with the cover: an absolutely perfect agente provacateur design ordered up and paid for by Roger Ailes himself

  • 34. jake  |  March 13th, 2011 at 8:15 pm

Liberal v. Conservative, Republican v. Democrat totally anachronistic

  • 35. Dan Reed  |  March 25th, 2011 at 2:53 pm

Who Cares about Beck, Limbaugh, Fox, etc. Everyone agrees the good old USA is in deep trouble economically! So how did we all get into this mess? Here’s the real story:
    1. The USA has been governed by conservative presidents for twenty of the past thirty years!
    2. The U.S. Senate has had a conservative majority for eighteen of the past thirty years!
    3. The U.S. House has had a progressive majority for seventeen of the past thirty years!
    4. The U.S. Supreme Court has had a conservative majority for 67% of the past thirty years.
    5. Conservative economic policies have dominated America’s economy for thirty consecutive years,1981 through today!

So stop arguing over the small potatoes of the world, go to the library, and begin learning about important things like the impact of: wealth concentration, monopolies, business cartels, trusts, and the new, non-allegiance-Multinationals.

  • 36. GhostUnit  |  March 31st, 2011 at 2:50 pm

I’m sick of seeing Beck’s fucking face every time I check The Exile, but before I ask the eXiled to do anything, I will first make a generous donation to the website and send the editors a receipt as proof. Thank you very much.
