“The strength of propaganda reveals one of the most dangerous flaws of democracy. . . . that propaganda renders the true exercise of it almost impossible.” *

Ever since our launch just a few months ago, the SHAME Project has been running like a buzz saw through the media establishment . . . it just needs support from readers and fans like you to keep up the pace. Can you help? Contribute using PayPal or WePay.

SHAME’S outing of Newsweek correspondent Megan McArdle as a Koch-linked conservative peeled back another a layer of the billionaires’ PR machine, sparking well-known finance expert Barry Ritholtz to declare: “Any publication that publishes anything in the future under her byline is off my reading list.” NPR and Adam Davidson had to run for cover after we unearthed their corrupt sponsorship deal with one of the most criminal subprime lenders in the country. And our exposé of Malcolm Gladwell as a tobacco industry-trained propagandist ripped a huge hole in the credibility of The New Yorker’s celebrity journalist.

SHAME’s exposés have been written up by The New York ObserverFAIRBarry RitholtzNaked Capitalism; and we’ve been featured on RT television, and interviewed on radio stations from Chicago to Los Angeles. We’re going to get even bigger, with the support of our fans. Contribute using PayPal or WePay.

HELP SHAME THE MEDIA ESTABLISHMENT.

What makes you think the media establishment has any sense of shame?

AEC: The Almighty has a question for you young trollhopper: When was the last time you sacrificed your hard earned money to the great AEC? Please include the exact date and dollar amount of your offering in your next prayer.

I confess, when the project was first announced, I felt akin to #1 up there. I was like, “Well, this is great, but they’re not going to listen, because they and their readers don’t want to know.”

Then, Malcolm Gladwell did that pathetic write-in thing, and I was like, “…Seriously? The guy is this big and this prominent a shill, and he whines like THIS?” It served as a much-needed reminder of how fragile these dickwads actually are.

Hi, I am a troll from Planet Trollanus, and my goal is to try to shift the debate from Adam Davidson’s corruption at NPR to a different issue. I hope it works! Ready? Here goes:

H’m. Something happened in the transmission. I will await further instructions from my leaders from Planet Trollanus.

    SHAME needs some celebrity endorsements:

“Every time you give to SHAME, the Koch brothers get closer to aggressive face cancer.” – Ed Asner

“Arianna Huffington wants to turn America into Yugoslavia, but with aroma therapy. Send money to SHAME.” – Chris Hedges

“SHAME puts a shotgun in the mouth of the propaganda establishment.” – Matt Damon

“Do you know what scares the motherfuck out of me and my teeth? The SHAME project.” – Fareed Zakaria

I’d give you money, but I’m just another day laborer troll. Who do I work for? Well, let’s say friends of McArdle have powerful friends. M’mmkay?

Dear AEC: I live in the People’s Republic of China, which means no US dollars to send to you. I doubt you can use Renminbi, either. I suppose I could mail you a wad of Hell Money. Besides spending it in the afterlife, you could pass it on to pols, evangelists, etc.

Probably the best way to give you money is to have Ames or Levine vacation here, in the civilized world. I’ll buy’em a beer.

I read the exile religiously while I was in Russia in the late 1990s. Just found your link again tonight. I’d be happy to donate a reasonable subscription fee if you keep up the good work, but since I don’t have to pay up front, I think I’ll give it a couple of months to see if you are worth one.

The AEC: What kind of sick, cheap fuck are you, Bruce? You got years of free entertainment in Moscow and now you’ll see if we’re worth it? Of course we’re worth it, even if that means you’ll have to skimp on your dental work this year. Trust me, not having the eXiled will hurt more than an impacted molar. So pay your debt to the Gods of eXile/d, you pathetic tightwad.

If I was a reductive idiot I’d probably be the type who’d pretend he wasn’t a reductive idiot while making a reductive idiot’s “point”. I wish I wasn’t a “shill” I hate that word and it hurts my little shiller feelers

My goodness, am I still here. Who are your paymasters! Tell me! Tell me! Or I will apply the trollboarding enhanced interrogation technique! It has been approved by American Troll Professional Association, the industry self-regulating body that makes sure all troll experts adhere to ethical behavior while trying to dupe internet readers.

i just recently discovered SHAME. I thought about donating, but then realized that not much, if anything, has been posted since 2012. So, is SHAME still a going concern? Or, has it given up but left its website in place to do what it can to inform while doing what is necessary to put food on the table?
