  • 2. Anarchy Pony  |  April 20th, 2012 at 3:05 pm

About the link over there from the LA Times about meat helping humans spread around the globe, why do they assume humans spreading around the globe is a good thing? Why is it automatically good in their eyes? Lacking critical thought much?

  • 3. Hick  |  April 20th, 2012 at 3:36 pm

#2 actually they don’t say it’s good or bad, they just say that it is.

And at the end they drive home the point that this does not say anything about what humans *should* eat.

    Ames: you’re obviously professional.

I sent you $ today. And keep improving the comments of angry envious retards, that’s what I donate money for.

One of Ames’s best TV appearances, following up on a great article.

  • 8. Matt  |  April 20th, 2012 at 6:01 pm

I don’t think I’ve seen you on Thom Hartmann before, although, I was wondering when this day would come!

Nice to see your glorious return to Russia Today as well. I pleasured my self many a night whilst stuck in suburbia watching reruns of Wayfarer whilst I waited for my Russian work permit.

PS My mom thinks you’re handsome.

  • 9. JIM GOAD  |  April 20th, 2012 at 7:26 pm

Hi, I’m obsessed with Mark Ames, like that fat woman in Misery you know? Anyway, Jim Goad here. You can read all about how I broke a girl’s eyesocket and bit her thumb because she outted me for getting hair plugs, a nose job, for being from a nice middle-class family and for being a closet-case, read all about it in Spin Magazine here:

    http://books.google.com/books?id=YG5YubNw1pgC&pg=PA102&lpg=PA102&dq=spin+magazine+jim+goad&source=bl&ots=SprD9oMhqa&sig=lhmWCd4TZgW3uf1tbRKojCXPy4Y&hl=en&sa=X&ei=eztQT9WzNob30gHu9oTwDQ&ved=0CCMQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=spin%20magazine%20jim%20goad&f=false

The critical point here is that Bales ‘snapped’ 3 days after his house got foreclosed on. So obviously that’s the reason for his outburst. It didn’t help that he was armed, jaded and in some hellhole Afghanistan rural base. Oh, and part of his foot was blown off in Iraq before that. How many other powder kegs like Bales are out there?

  • 11. JOOLIAN SANCHEXZ  |  April 20th, 2012 at 8:35 pm

Hey, Mark. Jules here. Just sitting here in front of my MacBook with my finger on my temple, pondering why I’m too much of a chickenshit to engage you about your article.

  • 12. Steve Patriot  |  April 20th, 2012 at 10:19 pm

What I wouldn’t give to see you on a Fox News panel…

228 views. Jennifer Lopez’s new song infiltrating the minds of our youth gets millions, but Yasha gets horrid scabies for his….

Like you remarked in the book, all you can do is breath. Me, I prefer spitting to my side.

What if Anonymous could force this into the eyes of people…. Say, occupying the New York Times Online…

  • 13. Cum  |  April 21st, 2012 at 7:06 am

Good stuff, Ames talking about what really matters.

  • 14. JIM GOAD  |  April 21st, 2012 at 9:38 am

  • 16. Jake  |  April 21st, 2012 at 4:37 pm

Why isn’t Mark as popular as that asshole matt taibi. He was always way more talented

  • 17. radii  |  April 22nd, 2012 at 11:08 am

Ames – I venture into your comments mosh-pit to urge you to eat an aspirin a day … you live a high-pressure life … there’s plenty more muck to rake

  • 18. Mr. Bad  |  April 23rd, 2012 at 3:51 pm

    @ AEC

    Angry, yes. Envious.

  • 19. Margo Adler  |  April 24th, 2012 at 5:59 am

    This is good.

It outrages me that white-collar crime is not prosecuted more severely. I’ve been thinking about this since at least Enron–the human suffering and tragedy caused by Foreclosure Fraud (et al) is appalling. It is a million times more destructive to society than most of the street crime we are so obsessed with punishing.

@1 hahahahaha I say this all the time, but I love the eXile Censor!

  • 20. Mike EFC  |  April 24th, 2012 at 6:37 am

This is Marks best on TV, much more of this please!

  • 21. Gutterpunk  |  April 25th, 2012 at 9:15 am

I see Kochsucker supreme Jimmy Goad is still around. Jimmy works for Taki’s Magazine along with another right-wing extremist, devil whoreshipper Scotty Locklin, aka “Scotty Dog.” They show up here occasionally when they are wired up and feeling brave from snorting all that Koch. Watch out, they are the epitome of the right-wing “Internet tough guy” syndrome. Scotty is so clueless he doesn’t realize Rammstein are ironic. Wow, what a pitiful Kochsucker is he.

  • 22. tierbess  |  April 25th, 2012 at 4:22 pm

Quite brilliantly, self-professed “libertarian socialist” Noam Chomsky clarifies the distinction between “libertarian socialism” and “American libertarianism.” Watch here beginning at 39:20 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVNq8knHGew&feature=youtube_gdata_player

  • 23. LuisManaceFrance  |  April 26th, 2012 at 10:47 am

#22: “libertarian” used to be an adjective synonymous with “anarchist” before the American Glibertarians got a hold of it and even managed to stole the convenient part of the rhetoric(“tax is theft”).

The supporters of laissez-faire capitalism have been adept at twisting terms for their own benefit. When unions were popular, they tried manipulating the term “syndicalism”, then “libertarian”, and even anarchism as “anarcho-capitalism”. But anarcho-capitalism is a meaningless term, totally oxymoronic and which, on further review, might not even be oxy-. I’d rather strip them of this camouflage and force them to state exactly what they are: neo-feudalists

I’d love to get the adjective “libertarian” back from these idiots who think “I hate the gubmint!” is a sufficient condition for being an anarchist.

  • 24. Lane McSecret  |  April 27th, 2012 at 5:45 am

Why do I obsess and watch you? Oh right, because you’re a fucking god

  • 25. al  |  May 2nd, 2012 at 4:27 pm

Hmmmm…no mention of my laundry list of libertard ideas, none of which include the fact that tobacco companies kill 1 in 6 Americans every year, and up to 5 million worldwide annually, and yet, as a libertarian, I don’t care about that because I’m too busy pretending to be outraged–outraged, I tell ya!–over drones and wiretapping. Some day, I’ll also care about corporate mass-murder rather than carry the water for corporate power. Yeah right, and someday koch monkeys will fly out of my ass.

  • 26. al  |  May 2nd, 2012 at 5:40 pm

And eh, why do you think it is that mass murder is being committed by private corporations, including tobacco, military industrial, big pharma etc etc…maybe something to do with whats the word again.. “Free market” ideology? Nah, I can’t deal with that, I’m too much of a dickhead

  • 27. Jim Vail  |  May 2nd, 2012 at 8:09 pm

Ames certainly keeps it real. I liked how Ames kept the dialog on track by speaking continuously, and mentioning both Reagan and Obama. The problem with Hartmann is he is very dishonest – blaming everything on the republicans. Our political system has been bought and paid for by the corporate class. It is really amazing how many Americans continue to believe in this sick system, and vote!
